Summary Allergic contact dermatitis from diethylthiourea in neoprene rubber. Ugeskr Læger 2002; 164: 1511-2. Three cases are reported of acute allergic contact dermatitis caused by diethylthiourea in the neoprene rubber used in a diving suit and orthopeadic braces. Patch testing should be done with the specific thiourea compounds, because testing with material from the suspected products may be negative. Cross-reactivity between thiourea compounds is uncommon.
