Prostate artery embolisation is a new treatment for prostate disease
Prostate artery embolisation (PAE) is a new minimally invasive treatment for prostate disease. Recent studies have shown, that PAE may be an alternative to transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP), and it reduces the prostate volume by 40%. The reduction in symptom score is comparable to that of TURP, and only few major complications have been reported. The purpose of this narrative review is to provide a brief overview of the current literature on PAE.
