IFAPP annoncerer 4 legater til dækning af kurser i Pharmaceutical Medicine (PM), heraf tildeles to af legaterne ansøgere fra foreninger tilsluttede IFAPP, heriblandt OLE.

Siden 1976 er der oprettet 10 diplomkurser i Pharmaceutical Medicine forskellige steder i Europa. OLE's bestyrelse anbefaler medlemmer at overveje at søge tilmelding til et af disse kurser for karrieremæssigt at være på højde med også andre akademikergrupper i medicinalindustrien, der i stigende grad nationalt og internationalt søger disse kurser.

Kursusprogram og varighed varierer, men i princippet er udgangspunktet den 2-årige basisuddannelse i PM ved Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine i UK.

En oversigt over kurserne kan ses på OLE's hjemmeside, hvor også ansøgningsformular kan findes.

Tilbuddet henvender sig til læger <40 år med gode engelskkundskaber og dokumenteret interesse for Pharmaceutical Medicine. Ansøgningen skal sendes til IFAPP's sekretariat senest 28.02.02. Yderligere information kan fås hos Lena Ejbye Schmidt, formand for OLE.

IFAPP EDUCATIONAL GRANTS

IFAPP, aiming to fulfil its commitment towards education in Pharmaceutical Medicine, announces the availability of four educational grants for 2002-2003 for young physicians (under 40 years of age) willing to undertake post-graduate training in this discipline. The amount of each educational grant (5,000 Euros) will partly cover the expenses related to travel and accommodation for training in one of the several schools of Pharmaceutical Medicine established in various European countries. Free registration in selected Pharmaceutical Medicine Schools may be obtained for the successful candidates by IFAPP.

Educational grants are available for four candidates:

  • two are reserved to applicants from one of the 25 countries affiliated to IFAPP (Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, The Netherlands, Pakistan, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States of America)

  • two are reserved to applicants from all other countries.

Applicants should complete the application and submit it to IFAPP secretariat before February 28th, 2002. The four selected candidates will be notified by IFAPP secretariat before April 30th, 2002. Training is expected to start from September 2002 onwards.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

A Medical graduate with excellent command of verbal and written English and appropriate knowledge of other languages relevant for the country/School of Pharmaceutical Medicine of choice.

The applicant should have a genuine interest in Pharmaceutical Medicine, as indicated by:

  • current employment by the pharmaceutical industry/national Medicines Regulatory Authorities

  • active participation in clinical trials or other drug research projects

  • participation in activities related to Pharmaceutical Medicine

The candidate should state the financial support to be expected from his/her employer regarding training in Pharmaceutical Medicine and how an IFAPP grant will contribute towards this training in an established and certified school in Pharmaceutical Medicine. Financial support for training in Pharmaceutical Medicine from other sources should be disclosed.

A report of the achievements attained by the successful candidate should be addressed to IFAPP after completion of the training.
