Summary Survival after a psycho-educational intervention for patients with cutaneous malignant melanoma: a replication study Ugeskr Læger 2008;170(25):2245-2247 A study of psycho-education for patients with malignant melanoma showed improved survival 6 years after intervention. We replicated the study with 258 Danish patients and compared recurrence and survival in participants with 137 non-participants. 262 patients were randomised to a control or a psycho-educational intervention group. Vital status and recurrence were calculated 4-6 years after surgical treatment. Psycho-education did not increase survival or recurrence-free interval. However, non-participants had a significantly greater risk of death than participants.
